A knee replacement is also known as knee arthroplasty. To term it more accurately it is also known as knee "resurfacing". This is because only the surface of the bones is replaced.

Four steps to a knee resurfacing:
  • Preparation of the bone – Surfacing at the ends of the femur and tibia, there is the damaged cartilage that is removed along with a small amount of core bone.
  • Metal implants and its positioning – The metal components are placed instead of the removed cartilage and bone. This recreates the surface joint. These metal parts are either cemented or "press-fit" into the bone.
  • The Patella is resurfaced – Undersurface of the kneecap is cut and resurfaced with a plastic button. This is implemented only if it is necessary.
  • Add a spacer - Between the metal components a medical-grade plastic spacer is inserted for the surface to move smoothly.

A total hip replacement is also known as total hip arthroplasty. In this surgery the damaged bone and cartilage is taken out and instead prosthetic components are placed. Our Hospital is well equipped and experienced in performing a total hip replacement surgery.

  • After removing the damaged femoral head, it is replaced with a metal stem that is inserted into the hollow centre of the femur. It is either cemented or ‘press fit’ into the bone.
  • On the upper part of the stem a metal or ceramic ball is inserted.
  • A metal socket is inserts after the removing the damaged cartilage surface of the socket (acetabulum). Sometimes to hold the socket in place, screws or cement are used.
  • As per the patient’s requirement, a plastic, ceramic, or metal spacer is placed between the new ball and the socket. This helps in the smooth movement of the hip.

The medical term for a broken bone is fracture. According to the research, the average person has at least two fractures during his lifetime. They occur when there is an external physical force is applied on the bone and the bone is too weak to handle.

The fracture risk depends on your age too. Children’s fractures are less complicated than adults. As and when you age, your bones become more fragile and you are more likely to suffer fractures from minor falls.

At our Hospital we deal with following types of fractures:
  • A Greenstick fracture – a fracture for a bent bone.
  • A Transverse fracture – a type when the broken piece of bone is at a correct angle to the bone's axis.
  • An oblique fracture – a type when the break has a curved or sloped pattern.
  • A Comminute fracture – a type when the bone is broken into several pieces.
  • A Buckled fracture - a type where one bone’s ends are driven into each other.
  • A Pathologic fracture – a type that is due to some disease that weakens the bones.
  • A stress fracture - a type that mends a hairline crack.

Our Hospital has talented and experienced doctors for this crucial surgery. This surgery is very critical as the spine is the very important part of the body. The doctors use ultra specialized instruments that are able to perform this crucial spine surgery through small opening.

The surgeon performs the spinal surgery to remove the ill and damaged bone or the intevertebral disks. The experienced surgeons at our Hospital easily finish the surgery by placing screws, cages, or any bone scion materials that is necessary for spinal cord stabilization and accelerate the healing process.

Arthroscopy specialists in our hospital are well trained and experienced. While examining an arthroscopy case, we ensure that a specialized orthopedic surgeon is appointed. The arthroscopy involves a pen sized instrument that has a camera attached to it. Thus the surgeon is able to get into the interior of the joint and operate it according to the requirement. This surgery is done through a small opening thus it doesn’t leave a huge scar.
